Gola, bad for the budget.

I don’t own that many pairs of shoes, but if I had a bad spending habit or large amounts of un-earmarked cash I’d spend it on pairs like the Gola Cruise. And I’d find a matching belt. And just for the record, I’m not gay.

Real or Fake?

http://www.wingmusic.co.nz/listen.html Can’t be.

I mux’d again.

http://christianross.muxtape.com Doesn’t sit quite as well with me as the first time around. Only 10 songs this time. As always, it’ll take a couple-three listens. Editor’s note: 11 songs now

The Big Picture

The Boston Globe started a section on their website a month or two ago called ‘The Big Picture’ that depict News Stories in Photographs. And it’s awesome. Some really great pictures including this set put up yesterday of preparations in China for the upcoming Olympics: http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/07/beijing_2008_preparations_thre.html

Still pondering

I visited the updated justwatchthesky today multiple times just to see the following: It’s got me wondering.

CleverAndy

I’ve never been a huge beta-tester but I do enjoy picking up an invite every now and again to sites that are on the brink of opening the doors. I was an early adopter of Gmail when you still had to be invited; I received, registered, and quickly found no use of Pownce from an…

One reference to the NYTimes is plenty.

More than one would probably make me look like a fringe reader. I’m not. But I do like this illustrated story about a man, his two sons, and their love for the NYC Subway system. In a small way, I can relate to the boys about their passion. I too, love the NYC underground transit…

Dear Iran,

You suck at Photoshop. And possibly missile shooting. First released photo of missile launch from Iran state media:

Forgive my tardiness.

I’ve been promising a short write-up on RSS and its usefulness for a while. I actually did one for another blog about a month ago an instead of re-writing the whole thing I’ll just steal my own content: The way we read/view/see the Internet is changing. As we move more and more of our information…

Dear Paste magazine,

I am writing this letter to inform you that our relationship is on the verge of coming to an end. It’s not me, it’s you. My courtship started late last year, November most likely. I found a link to your website and an offer from you to name my price for a subscription. I was…

When political correctness backfires…

I don’t have any idea who the American Family Association is nor have I ever heard of their website OneNewsNow.com but by the looks of it, they are a very far right, Christian conservative group. In fact upon a current visit to their site, the lead story is a call from their founder about boycotting…

Nerd humor

The guys at Gizmodo posted a pretty humorous idea for you geeks out there. Instead of going with the standard naming on your WiFi router at home like Linksys or 2wire3401, set it to something that your neighbors will always see when they are looking for a connection. Plenty of suggestions abound (plenty of ideas…

Starbucks closing 600 stores.

That’s not a misprint. 600 stores: http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080701/starbucks_closings_urgent.html?.v=1 I think the economy is hurting. It could also be due to the fact that they open 4 stores on every major street corner in my town. That doesn’t seem like really good business sense.
